“The Best Boss Podcast" showing headshots of Danny Ceballos and his guest Barb Bickford

Hi Barb,

I’m excited to share something with you!

Recently, I was interviewed by my friend and colleague, Danny Ceballos at Unleashed Consulting for his Best Boss Bootcamp Podcast

We talked about saving time and improving the engagement and outcomes of your meetings.

Today, my show is LIVE, and you can listen right here

The passion, knowledge, and innovation Danny brings to his work with middle managers are unrivaled.

I hope you enjoy listening to the podcast as much as I enjoyed doing it. It's my first time ever on a podcast, so I'm kind of curious what you will get out of it. I'd love to hear what you think!

Warmly,

Barb Bickford

Pro Tip

Iterate with small experiments

This tip is simple, yet it can be a game changer:  Make small, experimental changes in meetings

I don't know about you, but make big changes like "no meetings on Fridays" or "no meetings at all" usually isn't sustainable.

So frame your change as a fun small experiment that you want to run a few times, and ask for feedback when you are done.

Examples (try just one of these):

  • Ask for one minute of silence before discussing anything.
  • Invite people to arrive 5 minutes early to settle in and share their answers to a question relevant to the meeting.
  • Bring healthy snacks to share.
  • End the meeting with a question "how could we make this meeting better?"

There are more tips in the podcast mentioned above. Take a few minutes to listen! Read the "Key Takeaways" which are below the link to the audio.
